The silversmith workshop, Atelier De Vecchi, was founded by Piero De Vecchi in 1935. A sculpturer and engraver, at a young age he participated in Futurism which shared the constant research of the dynamism that he transmitted in his productions. His works were exhibited in major national and international museums: from the Milan Triennale to the Moma in New York, which granted him the Diploma of Honor for an aluminium Thermos, an aluminium "pic nic service" and a candlestick in silver T8. With the T8 Piero De Vecchi completely changes the classical structure of a candlestick: a single item that unfolds into a fluid shape into space. The design of the De Vecchi objects, applied to the silver artwork, was contaminated by the collaboration of leading architects and designers such as Gio Ponti and Caccia Dominioni: the outcome of these encounters led to the mastery of the language of the objects, from structures to materials and from surfaces to shapes. In 1962 his son Gabriele, succeeded his father atthe running of the company "Inside the Silver".
