Manufacturer: Decode London
Start year: 2007
End year: 0
Ryan Malone and Giles Massie-Taylor set up Decode in 2007 to showcase London’s creative talent. The aim was to collaborate with the city’s up-and-coming designers and create a unified collection that celebrated modern British design and championed British manufacturing. Originally working exclusively with a small collective of designers and craftsmen, Decode produced six products in its first six months for a preview in Milan in 2008, followed by six more for the official launch at the London Design Festival. This carefully curated debut collection featured a range of high quality and accessible statement pieces and saw Decode awarded “Best New Brand” at The British Design Awards. Four years on and Decode’s products are now available in over 30 countries across six continents. It’s also recognised for its distinctive approach to design, award-winning products, and uncompromising attitude towards manufacturing and distribution. Decode continues to work with the capital’s most creative designers, architects and artists and a close network of specialist producers, master craftsmen and quality manufacturers across London, the UK and Europe. Decode is based in East London and opened an office in New York in 2012. Designers involved: Anthony Dickens
