Rossella Colombari, born in Turin in 1958, founded the Colombari Gallery in 1980, together with her sister Paola, at the beginning of the 80`s focusing on 20th century art and pioneering the development of modernism collecting. In the early years, both sisters dedicated themselves to the research and promotion of the works by Carlo Mollino, greatly contributing to the appreciation of his production, yet almost unknown, both on a national and an international level through important auctions and exhibitions. In 1991, Rossella, closer to her family tradition of well-established antique dealers, separated from her sister and concentrated on making modern furniture coexist with design objects, jewellery prototypes, silver artefacts, historical and contemporary photography. In 30 years of activity, Rossella has created longstanding relationships with the most important museums worldwide and has gained an international standing by participating in the main art and design fairs such as the Pavilion of Art & Design London, New York Modernism, Art Miami/Basel and the Pavillon des Arts et du Design in Paris. Paola, on her side, decided to move on to explore post-modernist trends by launching her brand Edizioni Galleria Colombari specialised in contemporary design. Since then she has expanded her gallery into cultural management and contemporary art. Designers involved: Carlo Mollino
