Designer name: Morozzi, Massimo
  1941 -
Massimo Morozzi was born in Florence in 1941 and graduated in architecture in 1967. After his radical experience, until 1972, with the Archizoom group, which he created together with Andrea Branzi, Gilberto Corretti and Paolo Deganello, he coordinates, in collaboration with Andrea Branzi and Clino Castelli, the Montefibre Design Centre for the development of textile products for internal decoration in Milan until 1977. During this period he creates the first colour system: the Meraklon fibermatching”. In 1982 he starts his own independent studio and works mainly on industrial furniture and object design. Functional innovation and strong features are the main characteristics of his projects, for example the bed “Bibì Bibò” for Driade (1983); the modular table “Tangram” and the sofa “Domino” for Cassina; the table “Coleottero” for Mazzei; the kitchenware “Pasta Set” (1985) and “Vapor Set” (1990) for Alessi; The Spectre lamp for Segno (1988); the chair “Dry”, totally assembled by joints, for Giorgetti Matrix; the range of chairs “Clic”, assembled with velcro, for Sedie & Company. At present he is with Edra/Mazzei. He designed the series of furniture with strong volumes “Kasimir” and “Malevich”(1995) and the system “Paesaggi Italiani” (1996).
