Biography:
Born in Milan in 1945, Franco Raggi graduated in architecture from Milan polytechnic in 1969, he served as an editor on the magazine Casabella from 1971 to 1975 and as editor-in-chief and then manager on the design magazine Modo from 1980 to 1983. In 1973 he acted as secretary coordinator of the Visual Arts - Architecture Section of Venice Biennale, from 1979 to 1980 he was in charge of the "Raccolta del Design" in Milan Triennale; moreover he partecipated in numerous international exhibitions. Since 1977 he lectured and he took part in seminars in Berlin, London, Zurich, Atlanta, Chicago, New Delhi and Osaka. As a designer he works for Barovier & Toso, Candle, Cappellini, Fontana Arte, Kartell, Metals, Poltronova, Roset Francia, Schopenhauer, Tendentse. Since 1989 he teaches at the European Institute of Design in Milan, being in charge of its architectural department since 1996.
