Designer name: Barovier, Angelo
  1927 -
A family member of a long line of Venetian glassmakers from the 13th century. Angelo barovier, working with his father (Ercole) produced vessels in elongated forms in vetro in fili, a technique of incorporating colored glass rods into bubbled and colered glass to form stripes; created glass sculptures in which constantly changing effects were created by the internal characteristics of patterns and light. His contribution to venetian glass, it has been suggested, was greater than Paolo Venini's. Assumed management of the firm Barovier & Toso together with Piero Toso
